Apukka Resort

Apukka was a well-known resting place for travellers of the past and the old tavern was famous for the offerings of local produce, such as fish from the nearby lake and homemade products, berries and mushrooms from farms and nature alike.

Today, in the heart of Apukka you find the restaurant Aitta, and although a new building, Aitta is constructed from 100 year old logs. The high windows in the restaurant offer amazing views over the frozen lake and the huge stone fireplace with an oven used for baking bread and cooking stews bring warmth to this cosy eatery. Continuing with the tradition of hospitality, Nordic cuisine, with a modern twist, is served here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lunch and dinner are normally in buffet style.

All rooms, cabins and apartments are designed in stylish Scandinavian style with a special colourful Arctic flair in the soft furnishing.

Komsio Cabins are equipped with a double bed (on the upper floor), a sofabed (on the ground floor) and a private bathroom with shower and toilet.

Lappish Kammi Suites
The word ‘kammi’ refers to a style of accommodation built partially underground, insulated with moss, which traditionally provided shelter for nomadic reindeer herders across Lapland. New for 2021, old traditions and modern innovations have intertwined to create the unique and luxurious Lappish Kammi Suites at Apukka.  The 1-bedroom Kammi Suites feature a stunning glass roof, ideal for stargazing and aurora viewing from the comfort of your bed. They are also equipped with a kitchenette, dining area, lounge area and electric fireplace. The Lappish Kammi Family Suites are larger, with 2 bedrooms and a full kitchen. These do not feature a glass ceiling, but instead offer beautiful views over the lake.

Apukka Ice Cabins
These unique fairytale-like ice cabins are built from logs of ice and inside you find a double bed covered in reindeer furs. A warm Arctic sleeping bag will be supplied, perfect way to snuggle in for the night.
