Onkoshi Resort, Etosha National Park

Introduction

Onkoshi Resort is located within the national park itself and offers superb vistas over the Etosha Pan, with its shimmering mirages during the hot days and dramatic sunrises and sunsets.

Nestled on the rim of the pan on a secluded peninsula, the location is entirely out of view of current tourist routes, and thus offers a pristine, tranquil and unique experience. Guests arrive at Namutoni from where they are transported to Onkoshi Camp in open Land Rover vehicles, designed for game viewing.

The main area houses a restaurant, lounge, bar, sunset deck and infinity swimming pool overlooking the pan, offers the ideal place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Onkoshi is very environmentally friendly and uses mainly solar power.

There are 14 standard chalets plus one honeymoon chalet. All chalets are built on elevated wooden decks, with thatched roofs, canvas walls and large, wooden-framed retractable doors leading to a verandah allowing spectacular panoramic views of the Etosha pan. All rooms contain indoor and outdoor showers and tea and coffee making facilities.

Activities include guided game drives in the national park including in exclusive areas which are not open to self-drive visitors and moonlight walks on the Etosha Pan.
