Set in a beautiful Norwegian forest, the Storfjord Hotel has been wonderfully crafted in timber to offer 23 rooms with views of the Sunnmore Alps. Overlooking both a fjord and mountains, the contrast of Norway’s marvellous natural beauty is apparent, and the six acres of private grounds in which the hotel is settled brings small streams and bubbling rivers to your doorstep.
Wild berry picking, following deer and mountain trails or exploring the nearby Art Nouveau town of Alesund are all popular excursions, while boats and kayaks are available at the hotel’s private jetty for use. The dining here is a highlight, with a three-course dinner served each evening in the restaurant’s fine, timbered hall. The large fireplace adds to the cosy and luxurious atmosphere and many leave each evening with their belt a little tighter. Packed lunches are also available for those heading out for the day. Each guest room is en suite and furnished as a classic Norwegian log cabin and include large balconies that allow you to witness the area’s sharp beauty from your own room.
