With central Taupo a brief ten minute drive away, the hotel is well placed to enjoy the area’s many activities while settling back in the comfort of rural New Zealand. An area renowned for its trout fishing, angling excursions can be booked from the hotel, while kayak trips, sailing voyages and hiking trails all tempt the nature enthusiasts into the area.

The hotel’s facilities are designed to help guests relax, with a lounge and reading area that come complete with a log fire, a library as well as a hot tub and on-site massage options. Breakfast and the bar’s happy hour are daily events and many guests gather to share stories and indulge in one of the hotel’s fine cocktail or wines. An evening meal is served, produced from mouth-watering local ingredients and coming alongside one of the country’s fine vintages.

Two suites, the Lake Taupo Queen and the White Cliffs King Suite, are available, both with en suite facilities, kitchenettes with a tea and coffee maker, TV & DVD player, with access to a library of DVDs. The Chalet d’Amour is the lodge’s luxury cottage with fabulous lake views, huge bathroom, a crackling gas fire, fridge and microwave, flat-screen TV and sound system and a BBQ on the private patio.
