The Olive Grove, Akaroa

The Olive Grove, Akaroa

Introduction

Set in an established garden and working olive grove, this 4-bedroom villa is classically decorated to reflect its 1915 construction.

Traditional features, such as pressed zinc ceilings and leadlight windows, still remain and guests enjoy spectacular harbour views throughout the facility. The garden is home to a selection of native birds, whose calls will take you back to the days when the surrounding area was covered in bush land. Only a ten-minute drive to the French-inspired village of Akaroa, this is a marvellous places to experience the unique atmosphere of this beautiful peninsula.

Although the hotel does not have its own restaurant, a full breakfast is provided to guests each morning, filling their bellies for a full day spent exploring the area or relaxing on site. Pre-dinner drinks and a tasting of olives and olive oils is included and the hosts are happy to recommend a number of quality restaurants that are found in the area. The hotel’s lounge is comfortable and comes complete with Victorian open fireplace, cosy leather sofas and a large collection of books and games.

Each of the four bedrooms has been named after one of the olives which is found here and rooms are each unique decorated. All rooms have fine-quality cotton linen, wool duvets and feather pillows, hairdryers, bathrobes, TV and fresh flowers, wine glasses and candles, for those romantic evenings. Each room has a private bathroom.
