Ventus Australis
Introduction
Built and staffed by Chileans, the new custom-designed Ventus Australis is ideally suited to exploring the narrow fjords and icy waters of Patagonia.
Maximum passengers: 210
Translating as ‘Southern Wind’ in honour of Tierra del Fuego’s distinctive weather, the Ventus Australis is slightly larger than most of our vessels but provides an excellent level of expedition service. Like her sister ship, the Stella Australis, the Ventus carries a full fleet of Zodiacs for shore landings and exploratory cruising. The onboard expedition team are always on hand to share their experiences and provide information about the natural wonders of southern Chile.
Launched in 2018 and custom-designed for cruising in Patagonia, the Ventus offers the superb manoeuvrability needed to navigate narrow fjords and channels. The ship has been built to offer the best possible combination of safety, sustainability and comfort in an expeditionary environment.
The Ventus Australis features spacious guest cabins with large external windows, 3 comfortable lounges and a bar. Gourmet meals are served in the dining room.
