One of the great things about travelling to Australia is the huge range of stopover options available. Allowing you to visit exotic islands or some of the world’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities, it makes a lot of sense to break your journey on a long-haul flight and often involves little or no flight supplement.
Eleven million square miles of ocean, dotted with thousands of tropical islands comprise this idyllic portion of the globe where white sand beaches, swaying palm trees, azure seas and perennial warmth offer a true vision of paradise. Complement your Aussie holiday with a relaxing escape in Fiji, the Cook Islands, French Polynesia and Hawaii.
In contrast to the tranquil hideaways of the Pacific islands, the major cities of the Far East are a hub of activity and excitement. Renowned for their excellent shopping opportunities, high standard of accommodation and fascinating cultural experiences, a stopover here is a great complement to your Australia holiday.
Midway between the UK and Australia, the west coast of America is an ideal place to break your journey, with Los Angeles and San Francisco providing two very individual cities while a detour to Las Vegas makes for a memorable experience. Other stopover destinations depend on airlines and connections. See our USA stopovers
