International flights are not included in the prices shown for our Namibia holidays. This is because many of our clients prefer to choose their own flight route to include a stopover on the way, or to extend their stay in Namibia. The most commonly-used airlines to Namibia are Air Namibia, South African Airways, Ethiopian Airlines and Qatar Airways. Stopovers & Combinations
It’s easy to travel around Southern Africa by air, leaving you no excuse not to extend your Namibia adventure and discover the highlights of Southern Africa in the same trip. Explore Botswana – a safari-lover’s dream, discover the majestic Victoria Falls, explore the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town or the remote island of St Helena.
Botswana is best travelled around by small plane, hopping from lodge to lodge taking in stunning aerial views as you go. Highlights include Chobe National Park, home to the densest elephant population in the world, and the Okavango Delta. Track the elusive African wild dog in the Linyati Wetlands and cruise through the Okavango Delta noiselessly in a mokoro (dugout canoe).
One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Victoria Falls is one of Africa’s greatest geographical features. At 1700 metres wide and over 100 metres in height, it is the largest single waterfall in the world. Visitors cannot fail to be inspired and amazed by the sheer size, power and beauty of this thundering curtain of water, which is roughly twice the height of Niagara Falls.
South Africa’s remarkably beautiful ‘Mother City’ has a lot to offer. Take a cable car to the top of Table Mountain for superb views. Visit Boulders Beach, home to a breeding colony of over 2000 endangered African penguins. Alternatively, leave the city and discover the beautiful Cape Winelands including charming Stellenbosch.
Air Namibia’s is Namibia’s national airline and their flights have the shortest travel time to Namibia from the UK. They provide daily direct flights to Windhoek from Frankfurt (six per week in low season). They work with interline partners BA and Lufthansa to connect with UK and Irish airports including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dublin. Air Namibia has two Airbus A330-200s which they use on the Frankfurt route.
Economy class passengers enjoy personal on demand entertainment monitors. You will be served complimentary meals accompanied by a selection of wines and spirits during your flight. Economy seat pitch ranges between 31-32 inches depending on the aircraft.
South African Airways
The leading airline carrier in Africa, South African Airways is also a member of the largest international airline network, Star Alliance. Flying to Namibia via South Africa they offer about 20 flights a week to Windhoek, from Johannesburg and Cape Town and operate a modern fleet using an airbus A340-300 or A330-200 for the UK to South Africa route.
In conjunction with Airlink, South African operate to 36 destinations in nine African countries making it easy to combine your holiday in Namibia with another African country.
Economy class passengers enjoy personal on demand entertainment monitors with a ten inch screen. Complimentary meals accompanied by a selection of wines and spirits will keep you satisfied during your flight. Economy seat pitch ranges between 31-34 inches depending on the aircraft.
Subject to availability, it is possible to upgrade at Heathrow to an exit row seat to enjoy more leg room, or you can buy the seat next to you to guarantee more space around you.
