Namibia Safari Holidays
Spotting big game on an African safari is special enough, but when you can combine it with breathtaking desert scenery, ancient rock art, fabulous places to stay and a coastline teeming with seals… well, then you’re really in for a treat. Our Namibia safaris include both self-drive and escorted options, as well as a classic fly-in safari travelling by light aircraft.
Namibia’s flagship reserve, Etosha National Park, is one of Africa’s top safari destinations. Featured in several of our itineraries, it protects a vast salt pan peppered with waterholes around its edge – and it’s at these precious sources of water that Etosha’s legendary wildlife gathers, particularly in the dry season. You can stake out a waterhole in your own self-drive vehicle, or join an escorted safari where you can also explore the neighbouring private game reserves of Ongava and Onguma.
But there’s more to a Namibia safari than Etosha. We can also take you in search of Damaraland’s desert elephants and black rhinos, including a chance to experience the work of the Elephant Human Relations Aid team. Another fascinating insight into conservation can be found at Okonjima where the AfriCat Foundation is working to safeguard Namibia’s cheetah and leopard population. And then there are Namibia’s ‘small wonders’: the fog-basking beetles of the Namib Desert which slake their thirst by collecting dew on their bodies; the equally captivating Namaqua chameleon, and the 700-odd bird species that call this spectacular country home.
