Getting Around St Helena
The easiest way to explore on your St Helena holiday is by car, providing the freedom to get around at leisure and take in all the island’s main highlights.
You must provide a valid driving licence with no endorsements for dangerous driving or drunken driving in the last 5 years, and must be 21 years and over.
Driving is on the left-hand side of the road, although most roads are single lane. Etiquette requires the driver coming down to make way for up-coming traffic. Road signs are shown in miles per hour and the maximum speed limit on the island is 30mph.
Rental vehicles on the island are limited and pre-booking is essential.
