Secret Spot Hot Tubs, Rotorua

45 minutes

Year Round

Overview

Forest bathing at its finest. Enjoy a revitalising soak surrounded by native ferns, with drinks delivered straight to your cedar hot tub at the push of a button.

Overlooking the lush Whakarewarewa Forest and Puarenga Stream in the heart of the Waipa Valley, your private hot tub is the ideal spot for a soothing wallow. Each tub is crafted from natural red western cedar and filled with filtered spring water, heated to perfection at a constant 39.9 degrees Celsius. Accommodating up to six people, here you can reconnect with family, friends and nature in the heart of the forest.

Feeling hot under the collar? Cool off in one of the ‘Brass Monkeys’ plunge tubs, chilled to an invigorating 11 degrees. Hot and cold hydrotherapy is known to improve blood circulation, ease muscle tension, and reduce fatigue – just what the doctor ordered after a day’s hiking or biking! And don’t miss the Shinny Dip tubs: a mini hot tub for your feet, just in case you need a little extra pampering post-soak.

The Base Camp café and bar will tempt your tastebuds year round: from sangria and iced chocs on a hot summer’s day, to mulled wine beside the campfire in winter. Try a craft beer or cider, local wine, smooth manuka-roasted coffee or organic tea. If you’ve worked up an appetite there’s a selection of tasty street food and bakery-style light bites to choose from.

Your Secret Spot Hot Tub experience includes a 45-minute soak, as well as use of the cold cedar plunge tubs and Shinny Dip foot hot tubs. Towels, swimwear, and robes are all available to rent. Secret Spot Hot Tubs are open until late every day, year round, rain or shine.

team-in-location-liz-canada Definite bucket-list material. The mountain landscapes around Queenstown are off the scale when it comes to vast, rugged nature, so take our advice and experience them by helicopter. You'll whizz over valleys, peaks, lakes and rivers before landing on a remote glacier. Unreal.
