A journey by plane, this tour examines Iceland’s breathtaking topography, viewing the island’s magnificent ice-coated volcanic terrain in a way that reveals the land to be a true myriad of colours and hues.
Departing from Reykjavik, this journey will head over the sparkling Tindfjallajokull glacier, before journeying to the infamous Eyjafjallajokull eruption site, whose eruption in the spring of 2010 halted air travel throughout Europe.
Evidence of the volcano’s latest lava flows are still evident, before guests move on to the fragmented Gigjokull glacier tongue and the ‘Gateway to Hell’ at Mount Hekla, one of the island’s most active volcanoes.
The tectonic rift at Thingvellir National Park, the thundering Gullfoss and the famous Geysir geothermal area will all be covered, before heading over the colourful rhyolite mountains of Landmannalaugar. Minimum 2 participants
