Culinary

Wilderness Dinner
You will travel out by minibus or boat to a secluded wilderness camp with your guide. The northern most part of Sweden has 8 seasons, each with its own characteristics which inspires the exclusive three course dinner which is made and served by your guide.

Duration: 4 hours
Departures: Thursday and Sunday at 19:00 (15 April to 30 November)

Natures Pantry
Together with your Sami guide, you will travel out into the countryside to collect berries and plants that are available that season. You will stop for a coffee break around an open fire before enjoying dinner at the restaurant with the ingredients that you have collected from the afternoon.

Huskies

Visit to Husky Kennel and Husky Ride

Visit a world-class sled-dog kennel in Kauppinen, Swedish Lapland. Play with the puppies, ride along in a cart pulled by huskies and watch the 100+ dogs bask in the sun while the guide tells about working with sled dogs.

Midnight Sun

Midnight Sun in Jukkasjärvi

The 24 hour daylight is an incredible and characteristic for Swedish Lapland in the summer months! On this tour you will travel around Jukkasjärvi to different viewpoints where you will be able to see the golden midnight sun paired with the breath-taking nature.

Outdoor Adventures

Torne River Rafting

You set off on a traditional river boat to the rafting boats. From here you will head downstream along the Torne River. Your guide will instruct you along the way through the calm and rough waters. You will make a stop at the island of Puonojokk where you will be served lunch over and open fire.

Let’s go Hiking

Transfer by minibus to Aptas Mountain, where you will start your hike through the alpine forest to the alpine tundra. You will see the landscape change the higher you get. After about 1.5 hours of walking you will reach the top where you will have good views over Kiruna City and can enjoy a hot drink.

Fishing Adventure

Fishing has always been an important tradition in Jukkasjärvi. On this tour you will get to try your luck at fishing, you will start with trying out the casting technique on land before getting in a wooden riverboat. Your guide will take you to the best fishing area and hopefully you will catch a grayling or a trout.

Wilderness Skills

You will be taken deep in the Jukkasjärvi woodlands taught the skills for surviving and navigating in the wilderness. Your guide will talk about the nature around you and what is edible from the natures pantry to get energy and vitamins, how to create a shelter learn how to start a fire with a flint!
Duration: 3 hours

Ice

Ice Sculpting

A truly absorbing and surprisingly entertaining activity. Be guided by an expert, often someone directly involved in the creation of the Icehotel, and learn how to fashion a small block of ice into your very own masterpiece. The best sculptures are then displayed at the Icebar.

Sauna Ritual

Northern Lights

Northern Lights Safari

You will travel by minibus out into the wilderness, away from the light pollution, into the dark. Your guide will choose the best spot to see the northern lights* and will tell you about the phenomenon, why it happens and some tales and beliefs through time. *Aurora sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Photography

Wildlife and Nature Photography

You will head into the wilderness to take photos of the stunning scenery and hopefully some wildlife. Your first stop will be a local bird feeding spot, here you will be able to familiarise yourself with the camera equipment before carrying on the search for larger animals such as reindeer, moose and the arctic fox.
