Hunting has been a part of Greenland’s traditional culture for centuries and understandably so.
A land that is clad in Arctic tundra and features a very brief growing season, an agriculture-based diet certainly did not come to thrive here.
Instead, it was the animal-rich waters and terrain which would feed the people making this area home and, even in our global community, hunting is still an essential part of life for many living on Greenland’s coasts.
Done sustainably, the hunters use their skills and intimate knowledge of their home environment in order to successfully hunt this rugged terrain.
