swedish lapland reindeer herd rth

The only indigenous people of Scandinavia, the Sami have made the northern reaches of Europe their home for centuries, herding reindeer and surviving in a harsh area of northern wilderness.

Set off from Camp Ripan by minbus to a small Sami Village situated 30km west of Kiruna in Rensjon. You will be met by a local Sami family who will teach you about the life of a Sami family and the traditions of reindeer herding.

Enjoy a traditional Sami lunch (homemade soup and gahkku (bread)) around an open fire before returning back to Ripan Resort.
