Introduction
The Sami are an indigenous people living on Europe’s northern extremes. Join a Sami in a lavvu (traditional tent) and listen to the stories born during thousands of years of nomadic lifestyle.
Learn about the history, the culture and the old beliefs of the Sami people in the glow of an open fire. Listen to the traditional joik (chanting) as you taste delicious Sami delicasy cooked by the fire. You will then have a chance to visit and feed the reindeer nearby, learn about the traditions of a reindeer herder and have a go at throwing a lasso. As a souvenir the Sami guide shows you how to make your very own handicraft from reindeer antlers. A light meal, hot drinks and winter clothing are included.
