An area of Iceland that is rich in natural wonders and marvellous landscapes, the island’s southern coast is a stretch of surf-lashed black sand beaches, troll-like sea stacks and towering bird cliffs.
Dotted with powerful waterfalls and jutting volcanoes, this tour is a full-day introduction to many of area’s highlights.
Guests will pass through many of Iceland’s charming villages, standing in stark contrast to the creative and cosmopolitan Reykjavik where they spent the night, before exploring the power of the Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls as well as the Skaftafell National Park.
However, the highlight for many on this trip is the Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon. Journeying out onto the water by cruise, guests will slide past monumental glaciers that have calved from the ancient surface of the Vatnajokull glacier.
A sight that few are truly prepared for, an iceberg-strewn waterway is a passage of eye-catching colour, rich cobalt ice and frigid white snows that blend in these natural sculptures.
