A scenic coach journey provided by Lyngsfjord Adventure takes you to the Arctic wilderness at Camp Tamok (transfer 75 minutes each way) – set among high mountains in the beautiful Tamok Valley.
Before visiting the remarkable Tromso Ice Domes you head for the dog sledding safari. On arrival you will receive the winter clothing and safety instructions on how to handle your own dog team. This fascinating trip covers everything from grooming the huskies to learning how to drive a dog sledding team as you travel through the winter landscapes through the beautiful valley of Vass – approximate distance 15 km. You will be able to drive in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each sled with the opportunity to swap around half way.
Once back at the Camp you have time to rest with a hot meal, then to the Tromso Ice Domes nearby where you are greeted by the guide who informs you about the construction process, answers any questions and serve you a complimentary non-alcoholic drink at the ice bar. There is a short presentation on the area and the building of the Ice Domes with its restaurant and bars, changing from the original Ice Domes in its first season to a functional hotel made of Ice. Afterwards, take the transfer back to Tromso, arriving at approximately 18.00.
