Introducing you to a traditional aspect of life in Finnish Lapland, this excursion brings travellers face to face with the unique culture and tragic history of Scandinavia’s Sami.
Scandinavia’s only recognised group of indigenous peoples, after nearly a century of persecution the Sami have once more been recognised and encouraged to celebrate their iconic culture, which has lived so successfully in these northern reaches.
A people who have lived side by side with the reindeer populations, theirs is a truly fascinating culture and, speaking with the local Sami, you will learn all about their traditional stories and history as well as meet the intriguing animals with which they make their living.
Afterwards you visit the farmers home and have hot drinks with homemade cake.
