Discover the natural highlights of the Reykjanes UNESCO Global Geopark on this small group experience, including a hike to the active Fagradalsfjall volcano.
Your guide will lead you deep into the Geldingadalur valley (approx. 1.5 hour hike each way) to visit the Fagradalsfjall eruption site. This volcano opened up in March 2021, revealing burning red lava flowing from a fissure several hundred metres long. Before the hike back there will be plenty of time to take photos, as you witness one of earth’s most powerful and captivating sights.
You will then continue by Superjeep for an immersive exploration of the fascinating Reykjanes Peninsula, including stops at the Bridge Between Two Continents, Lake Kleifarvatn, the geothermal landscapes of Krýsuvík and Brimketill Lava Pool. A restaurant lunch is included in the fishing town of Grindavik.
The volcano hiking experience is dependent on weather and volcano conditions, and may be cancelled for safety reasons.
