Itinerary & Accommodation

Itinerary & Accommodation

Day 1: Alice Springs

On arrival in Alice Springs you will be transferred to your hotel. Tour the sights of ‘The Alice’ including the historic Telegraph Station. Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of the Air. At the Alice Springs Reptile Park you will see unique central Australian reptiles, such as the Perentie Lizard and Thorny Devil. Finish the day with panoramic views of Alice Springs and the ranges from the top of Anzac Hill.

Day 2: Alice Springs - Uluru (Ayers Rock) Sunset

Travel through the West MacDonnell Ranges and visit a camel farm, where there is time for a short camel ride (own expense). Further on, view majestic Atila (Mt. Conner) before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort. This afternoon join your guide for a drive around the base of Uluru then travel to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. Here view Aboriginal rock art and learn about the area as your Driver Guide points out native flora and fauna and explains the history of Uluru. After a visit to the cultural centre you’ll head to the Uluru sunset viewing area. Witness the striking colour changes of Uluru, while enjoying sparkling wine and nibbles, as the sun sets over the western horizon.

Day 3: Uluru

Rise early this morning to travel to watch the first rays of the sun set the Red Centre alight. Then travel to the mystical domes of Kata Tjuta. On the way enjoy panoramic views of the southern side of Kata Tjuta before arriving at the base of Walpa Gorge. Spend some time exploring the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. Return to Ayers Rock Resort, where the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 4: depart Uluru

You will be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport today.
