Itinerary

Welcome to Alaska! Your journey begins in Anchorage, a vibrant south‑central city set along the shores of Cook Inlet and surrounded by breathtaking wilderness. You’ll meet your leader and fellow travellers at a welcome meeting at 6 pm tonight, but if you arrive early, why not explore a little? Visit the impressive Anchorage Museum, stroll through the city’s lively streets, or even keep an eye out for moose that occasionally wander through town. This evening, you may like to join your group for an optional dinner to celebrate the start of your Alaskan adventure.

This morning, drive from Anchorage to Homer along the scenic Turnagain Arm, an All‑American Road skirting Cook Inlet. Stop for lunch at a local brewery in Cooper Landing on the Kenai Peninsula, surrounded by mountain views, before continuing to Homer for the night. The rest of the day is yours to explore this small town on Kachemak Bay. Browse artisan shops, dine at local restaurants, or walk the spit and visit the famous Salty Dawg Saloon for a drink.

Today is yours to explore Homer and the surrounding bay at your own pace. Start with coffee and pastries from the local bakery, then choose from a range of optional activities. Wander the town, join a bay tour, or take the ferry to Seldovia for wildlife spotting, keeping an eye out for sea otters, bald eagles, ducks and orcas. If you’d prefer something more relaxed, enjoy an afternoon tasting at the local winery. For dinner tonight, your trip leader will be happy to share their favourite local spots.

This morning, enjoy a scenic drive from Homer to Seward along the Kenai Peninsula. On clear days, you’ll pass turquoise lakes near Moose Pass and take in sweeping views of distant mountains and volcanoes. Stop in Moose Pass for an optional kayaking tour before continuing to Seward. This afternoon, stretch your legs on a short hike to the striking tongue of Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park, one of Alaska’s most accessible and impressive valley glaciers. Afterwards, check into your hotel and enjoy a free evening to explore Seward or relax over dinner at a local restaurant.

This morning, head to the docks for a full‑day cruise through Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park. Keep an eye out for orca whales, porpoises, puffins and other seabirds as you glide across calm waters surrounded by dramatic scenery. You’ll have the chance to admire brilliant blue tidewater glaciers and, with luck, witness one calving into the sea. Enjoy lunch on board before returning to Seward. This afternoon, make the most of some free time with a hike or a visit to the Seward SeaLife Centre.

Today, travel along the scenic Turnagain Arm to the small town of Talkeetna. Stop in Girdwood to ride the Alyeska Aerial Tram to the top of Mt. Alyeska for incredible glacier and valley views and enjoy a deli lunch at the summit. On arrival in Talkeetna, join your leader for a short, guided walk before spending the rest of the day exploring or finding a great spot for dinner.

After breakfast, enjoy free time in Talkeetna or opt for a scenic flight with a glacier landing for incredible views of Denali. Later, drive to Denali National Park, watching for wildlife along the way. Visit the Visitor Centre on arrival, then spend the afternoon exploring or relaxing before joining your group for dinner.

Rise early today for a scenic “Alaskan safari” through Denali National Park along the Tundra Wilderness route, narrated by your driver‑naturalist. Travel to mile 43 of the Park Road, winding past dense pine forests and snow‑capped peaks with Denali towering in the distance. As you take in the sweeping landscapes, keep watch for wildlife such as moose, caribou, grizzly bears, Dall sheep and even wolves may appear along the way.

After breakfast, make your way back to where your adventure began, Anchorage. On arrival, join your leader for a city tour that includes a visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Centre, where you’ll explore Alaska’s rich cultural traditions, hear stories from Indigenous communities and gain insight into more than 10,000 years of Native history through art, demonstrations and dance. After your tour, you may like to join your group for a farewell dinner and reminisce about the highlights of your Alaskan journey.

Your adventure comes to an end here in Anchorage.
