Overview

Set off on an unforgettable small group adventure through the heart of the Canadian Rockies, where awe-inspiring landscapes await at every turn. Over eight unforgettable days, you’ll explore some of Canada’s most iconic landscapes, from the crystal-clear waters of Lake Louise to the soaring peaks of Banff and Whistler.

This immersive holiday offers more than just spectacular scenery. Indulge in local wine tastings that showcase the region’s flourishing vineyards, delve into the rich cultural heritage of Indigenous communities with a visit to a renowned cultural centre, and experience the thrill of spotting wildlife roaming freely in their natural environment – from elk and bears to soaring eagles.

Travelling from Calgary to Vancouver, this affordable journey weaves through the stunning provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, capturing the essence of Western Canada. With memorable experiences included along the way, and a choice of optional excursions which can be added to suit your interests (additional cost), you’ll have the freedom to tailor your experience.

Arrive in Calgary and settle into your surroundings before meeting your tour leader at this evening’s orientation. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Begin your adventure with a drive to Banff and enjoy free time to explore. There are plenty of optional activities for all interests and activity levels. Perhaps take a gondola ride (payable locally) or hike up Sulphur Mountain for spectacular views of the Bow Valley. Alternatively, take a leisurely wander through Banff’s charming main streets, browsing unique shops or taking a peaceful stroll along the scenic riverfront.

Your journey continues to the iconic Lake Louise, a breathtaking glacial lake set at an elevation of 1,730 metres and named after Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, daughter of Queen Victoria. Widely regarded as one of the most stunning lakes in Canada, its turquoise waters framed by towering peaks are simply unforgettable. You may wish to tackle one of the numerous hiking trails around Lake Louise, such as the famous Tea House Trail. Continue to Revelstoke for your overnight stay.

Travel to Kelowna, located in the picturesque Okanagan Valley, with a stop en route for a barbecue lunch at Kaloya Regional Park, followed by a wine tasting at a local winery. In recent years, Kelowna has emerged as a culinary destination; this evening, consider visiting one of the city’s many craft breweries to experience its vibrant local scene.

Embark on a scenic drive through the breathtaking Coastal Mountains, where winding roads offer spectacular views of rugged peaks, dense forests, and glacial rivers. Your journey leads to Whistler, a picturesque alpine resort village nestled between the iconic Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains.

Today is yours to explore however you like. Perhaps soar to the summit of Whistler Mountain via gondola for spectacular views of glaciers, extinct volcanoes and snow-dusted peaks. Set off on one of the many scenic hiking trails or wander through the charming village and visit boutique shops and cosy cafés. Thrill-seekers can experience the rush of rafting or soar through Whistler’s lush rainforest on one of Canada’s longest ziplines. Activities today are at an additional cost, payable locally.

Start the day with a visit to the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, where an engaging interpretive tour brings the vibrant traditions of the local Indigenous peoples to life. Afterwards, enjoy some free time in the laid-back mountain town of Whistler before. Travel along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway to Vancouver and spend the afternoon in this beautiful coastal city.

Your adventure wraps up after breakfast in Vancouver, leaving you with great memories from the trip.
