Itinerary
Arrive in Gothenburg and transfer to your hotel in the city centre by bus (payable locally). Check in for a three-night stay at your chosen hotel on a breakfast basis.
Enjoy sightseeing, shopping and exploring Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city. A useful purchase is the city card, which gives you free entrance to many sights, attractions, museums and day trips as well as unlimited travel on trams, buses and boats.
Step aboard the Paddan sightseeing boats in the centre of the city, see the old moat and canals that date from the 17th century while learning about the history of Gothenburg’s construction and defence. During this tour you will pass by famous sights – the opera house, the famous fish market, green parks, the old shipyard areas and docks along the harbour.
Or take a stroll through The Garden Society of Gothenburg, Tradgardsforeningen, today it is one of the best-preserved nineteenth century parks in Europe, where rolling lawns, historic buildings and ornamental gardens featuring exotic and indigenous plants take you back to the golden age of horticulture.
Take a stroll through the Haga District, Gothenburg’s oldest neighbourhood, charmingly preserved with wooden houses, cobbled streets, cozy cafés, and unique boutiques. Don’t miss trying the iconic Hagabullen (giant cinnamon bun)!
Visit Feskekorka “Fish Church”, a striking Gothic-style hall that’s a bustling fish market and seafood restaurant. Experience Liseberg Amusement Park or visit Skansen Kronan Fortress a 17th-century hilltop fort offering panoramic views.
Or head a little further afield and explore Gothenburg archipelago. Take a short ferry ride from the city to one of the many peaceful islands to explore charming coastal villages or to take a gentle hike around one of the islands.
