Full description

Situated between Bergen and Alesund, the fjord coast is unknown to the usual traveller visiting the fjord areas of Norway. We are delighted to showcase the region and are the first UK Tour Operator offering tailor-made packages to this dramatic and authentic part of the fjords.

Stretching up the coast line from Gulen to Bremanger, the area is easily accessible from Bergen with its islands and villages connected by boat routes or by bridges and offers the flexibility of travelling independently by the local express boats or choosing a self-drive tour to explore the destinations at leisure.

Island Hopping – travel like the locals by boat and bus getting close to the unique and spectacular scenery, experiencing the everyday life of people living on the islands and join the local postal boat taking you on a guided tour among the islands of Solund, Bulandet and Vaerlandet, while delivering mail to the local people. Visit idyllic Gasvaer and take a stroll in Bulandet, where you can visit museums, viewpoints and cycle the Nordsjoporten Road with its six spectacular sea bridges. Head further up the coast to the beautiful fishing village Kalvag, and from Floro you can visit Svanoy with the historic manor house and home to the Norwegian Deer centre. Don’t forget to have your camera at the ready to spot wildlife such as the white tailed eagle, seals and otters.

Self Drive option – with a rental car you have total control on where and when you need to travel while visiting the many attractions, stopping at any point to take photos on route. Driving in Norway is very easy, with relatively short distances on our itinerary, the longest being 3.5 hours, returning to the airport on the final day. It also allows you to visit places not easily accessible by public transport, and of course making it easier to manage the transportation of luggage.

There are several good accommodation options throughout the islands - we have suggested itineraries with more information on the daily plan, taking in the highlights along the way and using the public transport methods and routes connecting the different locations.
