Following an overnight stay in Adelaide, you’ll be collected from your hotel for a 4WD tour of the rolling Fleurieu Peninsula. You’ll travel via national park trails and sandy beaches, learn about the region’s wildlife and First Nations history, and enjoy a local wine tasting and lunch, before being dropped off at the Cape Jervis ferry terminal. Cross the water to Kangaroo Island and the stunning Sea Dragon, your home for the next 3 nights.
During your stay at Sea Dragon Kangaroo Island you can take your pick of included activities and tours, ranging from beach yoga to sheep shearing or gin tasting! Enjoy a full day tour exploring the island’s famous natural attractions of Seal Bay and Flinders Chase National Park, and spend time relaxing around the lodge. Sea Dragon shares its land with a protected wildlife conservancy and you’ll soon get used to the presence of kangaroos and echidnas. With unrivalled views over Pink Bay, it’s an idyllic spot to end the day with a glass of Kangaroo Island shiraz.
Itinerary
Arrive in Adelaide and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to explore the city. You may wish to tempt your tastebuds at the Adelaide Central Market, or take a leisurely wander through the Botanic Gardens.
This morning you’ll be collected for a 4WD adventure along the Fleurieu Peninsula. Travel off-road through Onkaparinga National Park in search of indigenous wildlife and learn about the region’s First Nations history. You’ll experience a sensational beach drive along the majestic Silversands and sample some of South Australia’s renowned shiraz at a local vineyard. Also included is a delicious lunch at an historic family homestead, before your guide drops you off at Cape Jervis to board the ferry to Kangaroo Island. On arrival at Penneshaw you’ll be met and transferred to your accommodation at Sea Dragon, with time to take in the views and freshen up before dinner.
Sea Dragon Kangaroo Island
During your 3-night stay at Sea Dragon you’ll enjoy a full day nature tour to Flinders Chase and Seal Bay, where your knowledgeable local guide will share insights into the geology and natural history of KI. Also included are a range of optional activities – these vary daily and may include gin tasting and cocktail making, a Ligurian honey experience, a sheep farm tour, guided walks, beach yoga, bird-watching, star talks and more. Make sure you also allow time to relax and soak up your surroundings – Sea Dragon is located a stone’s throw from the beautiful Pink Bay, the perfect spot for a beach picnic.
All good things must come to an end and it’s time to bid farewell to Sea Dragon and Kangaroo Island. You’ll be transferred back to Penneshaw after breakfast to catch the morning ferry to Cape Jervis, before continuing by private transfer back to Adelaide.
