Authentic adventures in Lapland & beyond

Finland Holidays

Finland is home to wide-open landscapes, a vast expanse of forest, almost 188,000 lakes and 37 national parks. In Eastern Finland, ancient taiga forest is the natural habitat of brown bears, wolverines, lynx and other native wildlife, while Lakeland is dotted with thousands of beautiful lakes and tranquil waterways. Finnish Lapland is a winter wonderland with its gently rolling fells, thick blanket of snow and panoramic views, together with herds of reindeer tended by the native Sami.

Winter holidays in Finland offer the chance to stay in a spectacular snowy wilderness, with great aurora-viewing potential and thrilling winter activities. During the summer, spot wildlife in the taiga forest, spend lazy days on a houseboat or explore by foot, canoe or kayak.

Finland Trip Types and Experiences

We offer all types of holidays to Finland, which can be tailor-made to suit you. Whether you’re looking for an authentic winter break in search of the northern lights or a leisurely summer escape, a wildlife encounter under the midnight sun or an active family adventure.

Planning a trip to Finland

In the winter months, we have a fabulous range of places to stay in the heart of Finnish Lapland, from rustic lodges and boutique hotels to traditional log cabins. Explore the snow-covered wilderness on exhilarating activities such as snowmobiling or husky sledding. The properties are tucked away in forest, far from light pollution, where the nights bring an excellent chance to see the magical northern lights. You can even stay in an Aurora Bubble with a large window for laid back northern lights appreciation!

In contrast, the summer months bring the wonderful long days of the midnight sun, giving you time to explore Finland’s abundant nature. Hike forest trails, take to the water in a canoe or experience the thrill of quad biking. Roused from hibernation, brown bears mingle with lynx, wolverine and other wildlife in the taiga forest, while the extended days are perfect for a houseboat holiday on the lakes.

The Finnish Experience

Log cabins form an intrinsic part of the Finnish experience, particularly in winter and feature prominently in our trips to Finland. The cabins we feature are built to a high standard and come in a variety of designs, for anything up to 6 persons, with kitchenette, dining facilities, lounge area and, of course, private sauna.

The sauna in Finland is a way of life and they are as common in homes as having your own bathroom. To rejuvenate in one after a day out in the crisp winter air is a habit to which you can soon become accustomed. Whilst traditionalists prefer wood or smoke saunas, those in our cabins are electric which means they are easy to switch on and regulate the temperature. Ask our Finland specialists about fully-inclusive log cabin holidays for the ultimate Finnish Lapland experience including exhilarating winter activities.
