Overview

Head to the cultural heart of Finnish Lapland this winter. A choice of accommodation on the shores of the frozen Lake Inari provide the ideal base from which to experience a wealth of optional winter activities, including husky sledding, snowmobiling and aurora viewing, as well as the chance to learn about the culture and traditions of the indigenous Sami people.

High above the Arctic Circle, the twin properties of Hotel Inari and Holiday Village Inari lie 500 metres apart, perched on the shores of beautiful Lake Inari and on the edge of the village of the same name.

By day you can take your pick of optional activities (additional cost) – try your hand at being a reindeer herder for the day, mush your own dog-sled or relax in the lakeside sauna and hot tub. As night falls turn your attention to the skies on an included Aurora Hunt excursion for the chance to witness the incredible northern lights!

There is also plenty of time to explore the village of Inari – this small settlement is the Sami capital of Finland and home to the fascinating Siida Museum and Nature Centre, which provides a great introduction to the region’s Sami culture and connection to nature. You’ll also find the Finnish Sami parliament building, Sajos, and a variety of shops selling authentic Sami artworks and handicrafts.

Your stay in Inari includes return transfers from Ivalo airport and breakfast and dinner daily. A choice of accommodation options includes comfortable hotel rooms, sauna rooms,  simple cabins or glass-roofed Aurora cabins – contact us for full details.
