Peninsula Fly-in Women’s Expedition

Everything I had hoped and asked and wished for, was met. Our cabin was amazing, very, clean and warm, food was great with lots of choice - even when lunch was during an excursion they managed to look after a pescatarian, veg hater and the more normal amongst us! The guides were fabulous and really looked after each member on the various expeditions. Finally, although we saw slight auroras each night, on the final night she really put on a show for us. Truly blessed.

We followed a month-long tour of both the North and South Islands, from Auckland to Christchurch and many places in between. We were happy to follow a typical tourist route in general - to see many of the places everyone wants to experience. In addition, we had some specific requests that Discover the World made possible - example include, visiting friends we had not met for decades, visiting the Dark Skies experience on the South Island. We recommend a month as a minimum, many folks we met were taking longer to enjoy more experiences

Perfect setting. Very isolated which added to the overall trip. Everyone was extremely helpful and made sure all our needs were satisfied. The location, lodges, activities, food was all first class. And we saw the Aurora…. Perfect 👌

Overall, Nellim is in a beautiful location. Activities on offer were enjoyable; which I could have carried on with them all day. There is much to explore which merits more than one visit.

Excellent holiday. We mainly stayed in hotels with a couple of B&B which were good. We enjoyed all the trips. Unfortunately a couple of things were cancelled because of the weather.

We had the best time at the Wilderness Resort in Nellim. Jo Sehgal asked us the right questions so she could really understand what we were looking for. We were so pleased when we arrived, it was all just how we dreamed it would be. The perfect style of resort for us. The guides were brilliant and the excursions were so well organised. We relaxed and enjoyed it all. The accommodation was comfy and cosy and we enjoyed the lovely food at the buffet after a day of adventure in the snowy wilderness. We’d love to go back and do it all again.

A truly WOW location although noted we were blessed with great weather and northern lights - it just couldn’t have been any better

Accommodation selection was excellent and suggested itinerary also great. Completely felt like we were in a holiday not an endurance challenge yet also felt we saw so much in our week there.

Enjoyed the relative calm of off season - when you’re in the Arctic it needs to be snowy right?! But note February not a good month for extensive hiking in the mountains if that’s your thing unless you’re super experienced I’d imagine. And be ready to drive on snow and ice. Even with studded tyres - a new experience

Travel arrangements went like a dream and Darren at DOW a great help finding flight times that suited us.

Really well organised with a wide range of activities plus free time. Hotel is excellent - comfortable and clean rooms, superb food, lovely staff and a great location.

The pace of the tour was ideal, picking up locations you would not have thought of but everyone a gem. Exceptional, knowledgeable driver/guide who was with us throughout who made it his duty to ensure everybody was catered for. A fantastic trip that was enjoyed by the whole group (18 in total).

Husky sledding, feeding reindeer, walking in beautiful snow covered forests and seeing the Northern Lights. What more could you want?

This is an excellent hotel to experience Finnish Lapland. It's a great location, the staff are very good, the food is amazing and the experiences are truly memorable

Fantastic trip. All activities were excellent with knowledgeable guides and well organised. I highly recommend the Inari Wilderness Hotel and their activity package.

What an experience.
The ice room stay was fantastic. And actually not as cold as expected. Just need lots of layers during the day. The activities are great. But you have to arrive 15 mins b4 they start so it’s not a restful trip if you have organised lots ! Recommend the husky transfer. Wow what an experience that’s was
Take ski goggles if u have them. Just to keep your face warm where it’s not covered by a balaclava
