Christmas Markets

Experience the magic of Christmas in Stockholm, Sweden’s royal capital, where history and festive cheer meet in a truly enchanting way. As one of Europe’s oldest Christmas markets, the Old Town Market in Gamla Stan, first held in 1837, fills the cobbled square with around 30 red stalls offering Swedish handicrafts, ceramics, glögg (mulled wine), and traditional treats. Across the water at Skansen, the open-air museum brings Sweden’s Christmas past to life with carols, crafts, and reindeer. Indulge in festive flavours like pepparkakor (gingerbread), lussekatter (saffron buns), and julskinka (Christmas ham). As night falls, fairy lights and lanterns illuminate royal palaces and waterfront promenades, creating a cosy winter wonderland in the heart of Stockholm.
