Full description

The group tour has just six departures and is based on a group size between 30 and 40 participants staying in a good standard of accommodation throughout. You stay for five nights in total with two nights in Tromsø, one night in Narvik and two nights in Svolvær, all on breakfast basis, plus one lunch and three evening meals included. In Tromsø there is a wide choice of excellent restaurants available to try out some traditional cuisine.

The Magical Journey

Travelling between the different locations is as much a highlight as each destination itself with winter beauty at every turn and wonderful memories to capture at every opportunity.

Starting in Tromsø, located 320 km above the Arctic Circle and known as the ‘Paris of the North’, visitors are amazed when they discover this small cosmopolitan city is rich with lively cafés, world class seafood restaurants, an active cultural life, museums and art galleries. There is plenty to do here at the start and end of your tour and it is possible to pre-book optional activities, so you may wish to extend your time here before the tour starts for opportunities to experience some wonderful winter excursions.

You travel to the northernmost zoo in the world - Polar zoo, where you can meet the predators of the Arctic: the lynx, wolf and wolverine, and also more gentle animals like reindeer, elk and arctic fox. Then on to the famous port city Narvik for an overnight stay. The drive then heads west towards Sortland in the Vesteralen Islands for a Sami experience at a reindeer farm. After lunch you continue south through the magical Lofoten Islands with plenty of photo opportunities along the way, for a two night stay and a chance to join a northern lights chase, searching for the perfect location to witness this fantastic phenomenon.

After travelling from Tromsø, to Narvik and on to Svolvaer, you have a day here to relax and enjoy the main town in Lofoten. There are optional activities you may wish to try such as snowshoe hiking, sea kayaking and a sea eagle safari to Trollfjord. These can all be pre-booked.

Leaving Svolvaer the journey takes you north to Harstad where you join an express boat to Tromsø, arriving early evening for your last night on tour. Or if you have the urge to stay longer in the region there are other possibilities to extend your stay, perhaps combining it with Malangen resort, or crossing the border to Sweden and experience the unique Icehotel. Whatever you choose, our Sales team are at hand to talk it through.
