Overview

Sweeping glaciers, narrow fjords and mountain peaks punctuated with small settlements charactise the stunning scenery of this small-ship voyage along the West Greenland coast in the company of presenter and adventurer Ben Fogle. Witness the vast icebergs of Disko Bay, visit Ilulissat, the fourth largest town in Greenland, learn about Inuit culture and watch out for whales in the fjords. Travelling in late summer the days are still long ideal for exploring, but there is also the possibility of seeing the aurora at night.

The 6-day voyage embarks in Kanglerlussuaq located at the head of the fjord of the same, at 160km, one of the longest in Greenland. Journey to the colourful town of Sisimiut then onto Disko Bay where you have the chance to meet the locals of Qeqertarsuaq settlement over coffee and cake, a tradition called "Kaffemik".

Sail onwards to Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO-protected bay filled with majestic icebergs. Explore the town and perhaps choose to take a scenic fixed-wing flight over the fjord (at additional cost).

Return south along the coast visiting the settlement of Sarfannguit before disembarking in Kanglerlussuaq. Once back on land you have the opportunity to visit the inland icecap (at additional cost) before the return flight to Copenhagen.
