Full description

From the charming gateway city of Perth your adventure will start with an exploration of the southwest, visiting the forests and wineries for which the Margaret River region is famed. An exclusive ‘You are Invited’ experience provides the chance to sample some of the local produce with the 3 Oceans Wine Company.

Heading inland via Kalgoorlie you will learn about the gold-mining history of Western Australia, as well as experiencing just a glimpse of its vast outback as you marvel at Wave Rock, an aptly named monolith. Return to the coast at Fremantlebefore following the shore north.

Enjoy time exploring the spectacular red gorges of Kalbarri and the truly unique attractions of Shell Beach and Hamelin Pool. For a memorable wildlife encounter a 2-night stay at Monkey Mia will offer the chance to meet wild dolphins which swim into the shallows here. Plenty of free time is available too; you could opt to take a cruise in search of dugongs, tiger sharks, turtles and stingrays, or visit nearby Francis Peron National Park.

Your tour ends with a return to Perth, with a wealth of memories and experiences to take home with you.

Day 1: Perth

On arrival in Perth you will be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a city tour of Perth including Kings Park where you can see the broad expanse of the Swan River. Enjoy a Welcome Reception and dinner with your Tour Director and meet your travelling companions.
Overnight: Travelodge, Perth

Day 2: Perth - Wave Rock

This morning journey through the Golden Outback to Hyden where you will join a local guide on a tour of Boddington Gold Mine before travelling east to Wave Rock, a striking rock formation resembling a gigantic wave, which was formed from granite over three million years ago. This afternoon spend time at leisure admiring the eclectic collection of lace or the largest collection of toy soldiers in the world or even take a tour of Hyden Wildlife Park.
Overnight: Wave Rock Motel, Hyden. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 3: Wave Rock - Kalgoorlie

This morning you will take an exclusive farm tour to hear about life in the outback. Take part in a morning cattle feed before exploring a private collection of vintage cars. Continue through the outback through the former ghost town of Coolgardie on your way to Kalgoorlie. Enjoy a guided tour of the iconic gold mine including the Super Pit Lookout for an amazing view of Australia’s largest open cut gold mine. The Super Pit produces up to 850,000 ounces of gold every year. Afterwards enjoy an orientation of this historic gold mining town.
Overnight: Rydges, Kalgoorlie. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 4: Kalgoorlie - Esperance

Visit Cape Le Grand National Park, characterised by wild coastal scenery and rugged granite peaks. Picturesque features include attractive bays with wide sandy beaches set between rocky headlands. The area is home to grey kangaroos that like to laze on the pristine beach. This afternoon is at leisure in Esperance.
Overnight: Comfort Inn Bay of Isles. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 5: Esperance - Albany

See the mysterious Pink Lake and travel through the Fitzgerald Biosphere to Bluff Knoll Lookout. Take in the views over Stirling Ranges National Park, then continue to Albany.
Overnight: Albany Dog Rock Motel.

Day 6: Albany (B)

This morning enjoy free time to explore this historic town. In 1914, 41,000 Australians and New Zealanders left Albany bound for WW1. This afternoon visit the National Anzac Centre which opened in 2014 to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the first WW1 convoys departing Australia. Tonight is at leisure.
Overnight: Dogrock Motel, Albany. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 7: Albany - Margaret River

This morning journey through the Valley of the Giants with its huge Tingle and Karri trees. Explore the canopy of the Tingle forest along the Tree Top Walk, before heading to Nannup for lunch. This afternoon visit Cape Leeuwin, where the Indian and Great Southern Oceans meet. You may like to take a guided tour to the top of the famous lighthouse. Continue on to Margaret River, one of Australia premier wine producing regions.

Day 8: Margaret River

This morning visit Vasse Virgin, where you’ll have the chance to learn about all things olive oil, taste gourmet produce and sample beauty products made on-site. Continue to a local winery for tastings and lunch before enjoying a delicious afternoon tea in a picturesque forest setting surrounded by Karri trees. Your evening is at leisure.

Day 9: Margaret River - Fremantle

Travel north through Busselton, a popular holiday resort on the shores of Geographe Bay, to Fremantle. On arrival in Fremantle, the afternoon is yours to explore this wonderful town. You may like to visit the colourful Fremantle Markets to purchase local arts and crafts and taste local produce. We recommend taking a wander along the Fremantle foreshore to observe the impressive fishing fleet and perhaps partake of a refreshing ale at Little Creatures Brewery. A former crocodile farm on the water’s edge, this popular destination is the home of an iconic Australian beer. Enjoy dinner this evening at your hotel.

Day 10: Fremantle

Time this morning join a local guide for a private tour of Fremantle Prison. Step inside and take a journey back in time where you can view life as it was for prisoners and discover how time was passed in the yards. The rest of the day is free for you to do as you please. Maybe take a boat trip to Rottnest Island or ride on the historic Fremantle tram.

Day 11: Fremantle - Geraldton

Today you will travel along the rugged West Australian coastline to the port of Geraldton. Heading north to Yanchep National Park you’ll enjoy a fantastic Aboriginal cultural experience in a bush setting. Meet you Aboriginal guide who will treat you to the enchanting sounds of the didgeridoo. Continue on after lunch to Nambung National Park, home of the marvellous Pinnacles, a series of intriguing limestone formations. On arrival in Geraldton you will visit the evocative HMAS Sydney Memorial and have a chance to discover the seaside township.
Overnight in Mantra Geraldton. Breakfast included.

Day 12: Geraldton - Monkey Mia

Visit the Shark Bay World Heritage Discovery and Visitor Centre before traveling to fascinating Shell Beach, one of only two in the world formed from billions of minute shells. Continue to the crystal blue waters and pristine white sand beaches of Monkey Mia where you will stay for the next two nights.
Overnight: Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 13: Monkey Mia

This morning head to the beach to watch for the famous dolphins that regularly swim into shore. (Note: As dolphins are wild their appearance during your visit cannot be guaranteed.) The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 14: Monkey Mia - Kalbarri

This morning, travel to Hamelin Pool to discover a unique colony of Stromatolites, described as the earliest record of life on earth. Venture into Kalbarri National Park today to witness the spectacular scenery of the Murchison River Gorge.During the wildlflower season the National Park is abloom with many a variety of wildflower.

Day 15: Kalbarri - Perth

Today return to Perth. Celebrate your holiday with your Tour Director and new-found friends at a Farewell Dinner.
