Spectacular destinations we know and love

When Discover the World’s founder, Clive Stacey, first visited Iceland over 40 years ago, his three-week trip became a life-changing adventure that laid the foundation for what is now one of the UK’s leading independent travel companies.

No other UK operator knows – or loves – the country better. In 1993, we ran the first-ever whale watching trip there, while our self-drive and escorted holidays continue to trail-blaze exciting new itineraries. A similar approach of inspiration, insight and innovation spearheads all of our other destinations from Alaska to New Zealand.

Come and visit us

We’d be delighted for you to visit our office in Banstead, Surrey to discuss your travel plans. We’d just ask that you make an appointment (especially on Saturdays) so we can ensure the most appropriate member of our team is available to see you.

You can also meet members of our team at various exhibitions we attend throughout the year as well as special in-house events and talks. Read more about events and exhibitions »

Careers at Discover the World

If you have previous experience of working for a tour operator or have extensive knowledge of any of our destinations and are considering a career in travel, we would love to hear from you.

2018 was a very special year for us as we celebrated our 35th anniversary. In that time, we’ve become one of the UK’s leading independent specialist travel companies thanks to our passionate team, inspirational travel partners and loyal clients. We’re now the UK’s leading tour operator to Iceland and the Icehotel, but at the same time, we’ve added dozens of new destinations – from Alaska and New Zealand to Chile and The Faroes – places which appeal to those who share our love of discovery as well as the wild and spectacular.
