1

Arrival & Introduction to Bordeaux

Upon arrival at Bordeaux Airport, your group will be greeted and transferred by private coach to the city centre. The trip begins with a welcome meeting at Newdeal Institut, where students will receive an introduction to their learning experience, including an overview of the workshops and cultural activities ahead. 

Following this, students will embark on a Bordeaux city tour, a pedagogical activity designed to introduce them to the city’s iconic landmarks while encouraging the use of spoken French in a real-world context. Led by the Language School Teachers, this interactive tour will challenge students to engage with their surroundings through guided discussions and practical tasks. The day concludes with an evening meal in Bordeaux, allowing students to reflect on their first experiences of the city while practicing conversational French.

Language Learning & Culinary Exploration

The morning begins with a 45-minute language workshop at Newdeal Institut, where your Language School Tour Leader will focus on speaking, listening, and practical communication skills tailored to real-life situations and your student’s abilities. 

Students will visit Bordeaux’s Marché des Capucins, a bustling hub of local produce and regional delicacies. This pedagogical activity encourages students to interact with vendors, ask questions, and practice their negotiation skills—all in French. 

The afternoon continues with a French cooking workshop, an interactive experience where students will learn traditional recipes while expanding their food-related vocabulary. Guided by expert chefs, they will prepare and enjoy classic dishes, reinforcing their language skills through hands-on learning. The evening concludes with a group meal in Bordeaux, followed by a fun and social outing to a bowling alley, where students can unwind and continue practicing their French in a relaxed setting.

Science, Illusions & Urban Exploration

The day starts with a visit to Musée Cap Science, an interactive science museum that encourages students to engage with exhibits through enquiry-based learning and discussions in French. This is followed by an excursion to the Musée de l’Illusion, where students will experience mind-bending visual effects while expanding their descriptive vocabulary in a fun and engaging environment. 

In the afternoon, students will explore Darwin Eco-Système, a dynamic cultural and ecological space that showcases Bordeaux’s commitment to sustainability. This visit will include a stop at a traditional chocolate factory to see how local artisans make and sell this delicious treat. The evening features another group meal, followed by an ice-skating session, providing an energetic and social way to end the day.

Sport, Tradition & Friendly Competition

The morning begins with an unforgettable Bordeaux Rugby team experience, where students will gain insight into one of France’s most beloved sports. They will have the opportunity to watch professionals in action, learn about the history of the game, and even participate in some hands-on training sessions, all while practicing sports-related vocabulary and commands in French. 

The afternoon brings a game of pétanque, a traditional French pastime. This fun and friendly competition will challenge students to use their language skills in a relaxed social setting while experiencing an authentic slice of French culture. The day concludes with an evening meal in Bordeaux, providing another opportunity for language immersion and cultural reflection.

Coastal Adventure & Natural Wonders

  • Arcachon and Dune de Pilat
  • Evening meal in Bordeaux

The final full day of the trip takes students outside Bordeaux to the stunning coastline of Arcachon. Here, they will explore the famous Dune de Pilat, the tallest sand dune in Europe. As they climb the dune and take in the breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean, students will participate in guided discussions about the local geography, climate, and conservation efforts. 

This excursion offers a perfect mix of adventure, teamwork, and language practice in a truly unique setting. After returning to Bordeaux, students will enjoy a final evening meal together, celebrating their language-learning journey and sharing highlights from their trip.

On the final morning, the group will transfer by coach to Bordeaux Airport for their return flight home. Students will leave with improved language skills, unforgettable memories, and a deeper understanding of French culture, making this trip an invaluable part of their educational journey.
