1

Arrival and Walking tour of Bordeaux

After arriving in Bordeaux, travel to Newdeal Institut for a welcome meeting and introduction to the trip ahead. 

See the historical highlights of Bordeaux with a guided tour, featuring the Cathédrale Saint-André, Place des Quinconces, Le Miroir d’Eau, Place de la Bourse, and a climb up Pey Berland Tower.

Finish with an evening meal in Bordeaux where students can reflect on their first impressions of the city while practicing conversational French.

2

Market visit, Cooking workshop and bowling

Begin with a 45-minute language workshop at Newdeal Institut, where your Language School Tour Leader will focus on speaking, listening, and practical communication skills tailored to your student’s abilities. 

Visit Bordeaux’s Marché des Capucins, a bustling hub of local produce and regional delicacies. This pedagogical activity encourages students to interact with vendors, ask questions, and practice their negotiation skills in French. 

Next, enjoy an interactive French cooking workshop to learn to make traditional dishes like cannelés or quiche. Guided by a local chef students will learn new food-related vocabulary, reinforcing their skills through hands-on learning.

The evening finishes with a meal at a local restaurant followed by a fun game of bowling, where students can unwind and continue practicing their French in a relaxed setting.

3

Science, Illusions & Urban Exploration

Start with a visit to Musée Cap Science, an interactive science museum that encourages students to engage with exhibits through enquiry-based learning and discussions in French.

This is followed by the Musée de l’Illusion, where students will experience mind-bending visual effects while expanding their descriptive vocabulary in a fun and engaging environment. 

In the afternoon, students will explore Darwin Eco-Système, a cultural and ecological space that showcases Bordeaux’s commitment to sustainability. This visit will include a stop at a traditional chocolate factory to see how local artisans make and sell this delicious treat.

After dinner, enjoy an ice-skating session!

4

Bordeaux Rugby and Pétanque

The morning begins with an unforgettable Bordeaux Rugby team experience, where students will gain insight into one of France’s most beloved sports. They will have the opportunity to watch professionals in action, learn about the game’s history, and participate in the training sessions, all while practicing sports-related vocabulary and commands in French. 

End the day with a traditional game of pétanque. This classic French activity will allow students to improve their technique, socialise, and have fun practicing new vocabulary. 

Finish with dinner in Bordeaux and reflect on the trip so far.

5

Coastal Adventure & Natural Wonders

Step outside Bordeaux into the stunning coastline of Arcachon. Here, you will explore the famous Dune de Pilat, the tallest sand dune in Europe. As they climb the dune and take in the breath-taking views over the Atlantic Ocean and participate in guided discussions about the local geography, climate, and conservation efforts. 

Return to Bordeaux and share your trip highlights over dinner.

Depart for Bordeaux Airport for your return flight home.
