Arrive at Marrakech Menara Airport and meet your Tour Leader.

Get familiar with your surroundings on a walking tour of Marrakech Medina, where you’ll see Morocco’s rich heritage in bustling souks, the old Koranic School, and the Koutoubia Mosque.

Next, you’ll head to the High Atlas on the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. You’ll be immersed in Morocco’s rugged landscape as you travel through the gully-eroded fold mountains.

Day

Atlas Mountains

Start the day with a shorthike in the Atlas Mountains, a great place for geographers to marvel at deep valleys and high peaks carved over millions of years.

Here, students can learn about how plate tectonics, as well as erosion from glaciers and rivers, have influenced the Atlas Mountains.

After a picnic lunch, you’ll take part in community project work alongside locals in Aremd village.

Day

3

Day 3 Essaouira

Today, you’ll travel to Essaouira on the windswept Atlantic shoreline. On the way, you’ll make a stop at Sidi Kaouki to take part in a beach clean-up.

Day

Home

Spend the morning exploring Essaouira with a walking tour of the UNESCO-Listed medina. Here, you’ll see a more relaxed and artistic side of Morocco as you stroll along the old Portuguese ramparts, see numerous synagogues and experience the city’s bohemian charm.

Here students can understand human geography as Essaouira is an exceptional example of a late-18th-century fortified town that played a major role in international trading, linking Morocco and sub-Saharan Africa with the rest of the world.

Transfer to Marrakech Airport for your flight home.
