Day

1

Arrive in Morocco, Argan Oil Cooperative and French Lesson

Arrive at Marrakech airport and travel to Imlil in the Atlas Mountains.

Visit a women’s Argan oil cooperative where students will learn about this precious Moroccan product and female empowerment. Here, students will see how argan oil is produced using traditional methods for organic cosmetics.

Afterwards, head to a local school for a French lesson where students will learn key vocabulary for the trip ahead and meet with local students.

2

Shrine of Sidi Chamharouch and French Lesson

Begin with a guided hike in Toubkal National Park, to the hamlet of Sidi Chamharouch, an important stop for pilgrims or those climbing to the peak of Mount Toubkal. Here, students can learn about the importance of holy shrines in the Berber culture.

After a picnic lunch the students walk back to Imlil.

Next, students can enjoy another French lesson in a local school with the Moroccan students.

Water Museum and Marrakech Sightseeing

On your way to Marrakech, make visit the Water Museum (Musée Mohammed VI pour la civilisation de l’eau au Maroc) for a guided visit in French.

You’ll learn about the importance of water in Moroccan history and how it’s utilised for sutainable development today.

Arrive in Marrakech for an afternoon sightseeing including the Koutoubia Mosque, Ben Yousef Medrassa and the bustling souks.

Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant near Jemaa el-Fnaa, Marrakech’s famous central square, bustling with street performers, storytellers, musicians, market stalls, and traditional food vendors.
