Arrive in Cannes & Guided walking tour

After arriving in Nice, you’ll be welcomed by your Tour Leader, who will be accompanying you during your trip.

Arrive in the glamorous city of Cannes and take in the sights with a guided walking tour in French, including the iconic Boulevard de la Croisette, a palm tree-lined promenade dotted with luxury boutiques, grand hotels and golden beaches.

Follow in the footsteps of world-famous stars at the Palais des Festivals, the venue of the iconic Cannes Film Festival. Here you’ll learn about the city’s iconic film history and see the Path of the Stars, Cannes’ answer to Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

You’ll also explore Le Suquet, the historic old town, where narrow cobbled streets and local markets offer a charming contrast to the glitz of the city.

Before heading to the hotel for dinner, spend the afternoon on the beach playing games and relaxing.

It wouldn’t be a trip to Cannes without going to the cinema. Stroll through the city and in summer, catch a glimpse of the free open-air performances.

Day

2

Marché Forville, Antibes on foot & local honey farm

Start with a visit to the Marché Forville. This traditional French market is the perfect place for students to explore local culture through their tastebuds. As they walk through the bustling stalls, they’ll see (and smell!) the flavours of Provence. Here, students can practice their French as they chat to local vendors to buy their picnic lunch.

Head to the seaside city of Antibes via coach or train. Before a guided walking tour, you’ll have a one-hour lesson at the CIA Language School. The lesson ties in with the tour-ahead, giving students some new key phrases to use.

Step back in time as you explore the city with an immersive tour conducted in French. Your guide will reveal stories from behind the fortified walls and quaint streets before exploring the lively Provençal market and Château Grimaldi.

Unsurprisingly, the city has long inspired artists, including Pablo Picasso. Head to the Musée Picasso  to see a collection of modern art, including sculptures by Joan Miró and Germaine Richier and works by Eva Bergman, and many more.

Learn about the traditional art of honey production with a hands-on workshop in the countryside. A local beekeeper will explain in French the role bees play in supporting biodiversity, the different types of bees, how they communicate and how honey is collected. You’ll also get a chance to give it a go yourself!

End the day with an exciting game of laser bowling before dinner.
