Cooking Class and Medina Walking Tour

French students will travel to the language school in style by taking a caleche (horse drawn carriage). During the language workshop, they’ll learn about changes to the city after French rule ended and key vocabulary for the cooking class ahead. Geography students will also explore the city by caleche to help get their bearings.

Next, head to a cooking class to learn about traditional Moroccan cuisine. Local chefs will teach students in French or English to make the perfect tagine bursting with local spices. While their dishes are cooking, students can learn to make authentic Moroccan mint tea to enjoy with their delicious meal.

Continue the medina walking tour (guided in French and English) to see the traditional souks, the old Koranic School, and Koutoubia Mosque.

This afternoon, you’ll have the option of visiting Jardin Majorelle.

After dinner, spend the evening at Jemaa el-Fnaa, Marrakech’s famous central square, bustling with street performers, storytellers, musicians, market stalls, and traditional food vendors.

Berber Village and Aït Benhaddou

Language students will spend the morning at a French workshop learning key phrases, grammar and vocabulary to use during the trip.

Next, you’ll head to the High Atlas on the Tizi n’Tichka Pass travelling through the gully-eroded fold mountain landscape before visiting an Amazigh (Berber) village where students can immerse themselves in local culture against a backdrop of the Atlas Mountains. The time spent in rural areas offers the opportunity to contrast development and equality compared to life in the city. Language students will learn about the Berber language and its cultural significance in Morocco while picking up a few key phrases.

Continue your journey to Aït Benhaddou. The majestic UNESCO World Heritage Site is surrounded by desert landscapes, which blend with the mud-brick architecture. Your guided tour will be in English (for geography students) or French (for language students).

After dinner at your accommodation or a local restaurant, enjoy an evening of Moroccan storytelling
