A dedicated Language School Tour Leader will accompany the group, providing on-the-go pedagogical activities, reinforcing language learning in natural settings. These are delivered to small groups of students and are tailored to their abilities, allowing for maximum practice.

1

Arrival & Introduction to Sète

  • Arrive Montpellier airport

Upon arrival at Montpellier Airport, the group will be greeted by their Language School Tour Leader and transferred to Montpellier City by private coach. Here students will be shown around the main sights of the city as they explore the historic centre, before visiting Laser Game Evolution at Odysseum Montpellier for a fun group activity.  

The evening concludes with a group meal in Montpellier, offering an opportunity to reflect on the first day and engage in further language practice. The group will then take the coach to their accommodation in Sète to prepare for the day ahead.

2

Language Learning & Interactive Exploration

  • 3-hour language workshop at Lingua Sète
  • Treasure hunt Séte – Pétanque in Séte
  • Evening meal in Séte

The morning starts with a fun and interactive three-hour language workshop at Lingua Sète Language School, where expert teachers will help students develop their confidence and fluency in French through targeted exercises and real-world scenarios. 

In the afternoon, students will take part in a treasure hunt around Sète, a pedagogical activity designed to encourage communication and teamwork while discovering key landmarks. With the help of the locals, students will be able to utilise the key words and phrases from their morning workshop to help find the treasures before the other teams.  

This will be followed by a lively round of pétanque, allowing students to build on their language skills while engaging in friendly competition. The day ends with an evening meal in Sète, where students can apply their newly acquired vocabulary in a relaxed setting.

Gastronomy, Innovation & Adventure

The day begins with a visit to Les Halles food market, a sensory-rich pedagogical activity where students will interact with local vendors, learn about regional specialities, and practice their French in a dynamic and authentic setting. 

The group will then head to a FabLab workshop, an innovative hands-on session where students will explore creative design, technology, and sustainability, all while engaging in guided discussions and expanding their technical vocabulary in French. 

In the afternoon, students will undertake the Mont Saint-Clair climb, a scenic hike offering panoramic views of Sète and the surrounding coastline. On the way up, they will participate in guided discussions on geography, history, and local legends, reinforcing their listening and speaking skills. The day concludes with an evening meal in Sète, where students will have the chance to reflect on their experiences and share their impressions in French.

Culinary Traditions & Maritime Discovery

  • Inside the French Kitchen at Palanquée Canteen (Pedagogical Activity)

Today’s itinerary is dedicated to hands-on cultural and culinary exploration. The morning begins Inside the French Kitchen at Palanquée Canteen, a pedagogical activity where students will discover the secrets of French gastronomy, learning about traditional techniques and regional ingredients through engaging, interactive tasks. 

Next, students will embark on a boat tour through the canals of Sète, experiencing the town from a different perspective while participating in guided conversations about its maritime history, fishing traditions, and architectural heritage. 

In the afternoon, they will take part in a cooking workshop focused on Zézette biscuits, a local delicacy. Guided by expert bakers, students will learn about the history of this traditional treat while improving their comprehension and conversational skills. The evening concludes with a group meal in Sète, providing another opportunity for students to refine their spoken French in a social setting.

Language, Culture & Outdoor Adventure

The final full day of the trip starts with a language workshop in Sète, reinforcing the linguistic progress students have made throughout their journey. Through interactive activities and role-play scenarios, they will consolidate their knowledge and gain confidence in using their French in real-world situations. 

Following this, students will experience “French Soap: A Look Behind the Screen”, a pedagogical activity where they will stroll through the filming locations of Demain Nous Appartient, a famous soap filmed in Sète. Your guide will share unique insights into French film culture and explore the impact of French television and cinema on the language and culture. 

The afternoon features an exhilarating kayaking session along Sète’s coast, where students will follow French instructions, work in teams, and use language skills in an adventurous setting. This activity reinforces directional vocabulary and teamwork communication while providing a fun and active way to end the day. The evening concludes with a final group meal in Sète, where students can celebrate their achievements and reminisce about their favourite moments from the trip.

On the final morning, the group will transfer by coach to Montpellier Airport for their return flight home. Students will leave with enhanced language skills, a deeper appreciation of French culture, and unforgettable memories of their time in Sète.
