A bit about me:

I have a real passion for geography and completed a degree in the subject followed by a post graduate certificate in psychology from the University of Newcastle.

This, combined with a love for travel and previous experience in customer service and management roles, meant I was a natural fit for Discover the World Education when I joined in 2007.

In 2014, I also completed a part time MBA from the University of Bath.

What drew me to the travel industry?

I have been fortunate enough to travel regularly throughout my life.

Iceland is like a second home, which I visit several times a year. Organising geography trips for school groups to the place I know so well felt like second nature to me and I know my team share this enthusiasm.

What do I love most about my job?

Exploring new ideas and activities which help students and teachers to make the most of their trip. Working with a team of people who are highly passionate about travel and delivering a great service. Listening / reading stories from students and teachers when they return from their adventure.

When travelling you’ll find me:

Exploring, hiking, surfing and trying new food.

Most memorable travel moment:

A snowmobile ride across the Icelandic Myrdalsjokull icecap, to then stand 200 metres away from the erupting Eyjafjallajokull; one of the most exciting experiences of my life!

The excursion/ activity I most recommend:

Ice climbing on Solheimajokull
