What drew you to the travel industry?

I studied archaeology which helped develop my love of history and places.My career in travel began as a specialist creating tailor-made itineraries to Canada and North America. I then worked in the airline industry for Cathay Pacific Airways and then with Sri Lankan Airlines which afforded me the opportunity to travel and explore  destinations such as China, Srilanka, Australia and New Zealand. Then I moved into the corporate business world and worked for more than 10 years booking group travel for Music bands and VIP artists on Worldwide and European tours within Europe and North America and then Cricket and Rugby Tours to Australia and New Zealand.

What are your top tips for organising the best school trip possible?

Plan well in advance and inspire your students.

What is your must-pack item?

A good book.

What excursion or activity  do you most recommend?

Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon

If you were travelling, where would we find you?

In an authentic restaurant trying the local delicacies.

What is your most memorable travel moment?

  • Paragliding from Coronet Peak in Queenstown, New Zealand.
  • Drinking blue vodka in the Blue Lagoon, Iceland while listening to a new Icelandic band.
  • Kiwi spotting in Stewart Island surrounded by thousands of stars
  • Kayaking in Doubtful sound with dolphins & seals.
