A bit about me

I have been an enthusiastic and experienced teacher of geography and geology, communicating my passion for the Earth Sciences for over 25 years. I am a DofE Gold expedition leader and also Head of Year 7&8 at a school in Somerset.

I first visited Iceland in 1993 to climb Hvannadalshnúkur and other peaks in the Skaftafell National Park, and have returned to visit Iceland many times leading geography & geology field trips. I am a qualified Mountain Leader and have travelled & taken groups on outdoor adventures in many parts of the U.K. as well as further afield in Morocco, North West Pakistan & Nepal.

Why I love being a Teacher Tour Leader

Geography properly begins when pupils leave the classroom. Iceland is the perfect geoscience laboratory and it is a pleasure to help nurture the next generation of curious geographers and to have the opportunity to fire their imaginations.

My favourite place in Iceland

Snæfellsnes, one of the places in which I have seen the most spectacular Auroral displays.
