Teacher Inspection Trips

MFL Discovery & Research Trip

We know that historically, many MFL teachers have felt underserved by tour operators, and their needs aren’t always understood. We believe that Modern Foreign Languages deserves the same care and subject specific insight that we’ve long brought to geography trips. That’s why we are taking a different approach – one that puts your expertise, your challenges and your student’s needs at the heart of our planning. We can only do this by taking you with us.

We are on the hunt for curious innovators to share their MFL expertise and shape the future of our language school trips. Together, we will be embarking on a discovery trip to either France, Spain or Morocco. With this free, all-expenses-paid trip you’re getting a first glimpse of our most exciting MFL itineraries yet – all in return for your feedback. Just bring your wit, your wisdom, and a few honest thoughts (no red pen required). And as if a free trip wasn’t enough, you will also network with other MFL professionals and earn some well-deserved CPD opportunities.

So, who are we looking for?

You’ll be a current MFL teacher (French or Spanish preferred), already dreaming up school trips – or ready to start. You’re open-minded, happy to share your thoughts (questionnaires, interviews, the lot), and curious about exploring fresh ideas with fellow language lovers. If you’re flexible on providers and realistic about modern trip budgets (we’re talking experiences that reflect today, not a £400 brochure from 2010), then we’d love to hear from you. This is your chance to help shape something exciting – and have a great time doing it.

Ready to join us?

Just share your details and we’ll send over a short online questionnaire – it only takes a few minutes and needs to be completed by Friday 27th June. Secret tip – those who apply earlier will be at an advantage!

We’ll review all responses and invite shortlisted teachers for a quick online chat between mid-July and early September. If you’re selected for an interview, you’ll hear from us by 15th July, and the final trip places will be confirmed by 30th September.

That’s it. A few steps, a bit of your insight – and you could be packing your bags for an unforgettable MFL adventure.

Independent Teacher Inspection Visits

If a suitable departure is not scheduled for your destination, we can provide two nights’ accommodation for an independent inspection visit. The stay will be at the proposed accommodation for your school group, or similar, subject to availability.

Accommodation

If you have confirmed a school group of over ten paying passengers, we will offer two nights complimentary accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis, for up to two passengers. If you have not confirmed your school group with us, there is a minimum charge of £80 per person per night. If you subsequently pay a deposit on a group trip to the inspected destination with at least ten paying passengers within two years of the visit, you will be refunded.

Flights, activities, and transport in your destination

As a group travel specialist, Discover the World Education offers a diverse range of options for group travel at excellent value. However, these savings may not be available to us when booking independent inspection visits for our clients. We therefore encourage you independently arrange flights and other arrangements such as entry fees to exhibitions and activities. If services are arranged by Discover the World Education, supplementary to the aforementioned two nights’ accommodation, a non-refundable £50 per person admin fee will be charged.
