Teacher Inspection Trips
Teacher Inspection Visits
Inspection visits can be an important tool in the process of establishing a group trip, giving you confidence and experience in Discover the World Education’s tours and destinations. We run regular scheduled group departures for teachers to familiarise themselves with highlights of their proposed tour, with the dedicated assistance and support of our staff and tour leaders.
Scheduled Teacher Inspection Visits
We currently organise annual teacher inspection visits to South and West Iceland, with our next departure in May half term 2024. Our teacher inspection visits are designed to showcase our most popular school itineraries, taking in the essential sights of Iceland. Expect to see breath-taking waterfalls, majestic volcanoes, erupting geysers and striking black beaches.
Most of our departures are from London, however we can look into the possibility of regional departures as a case by case basis.

Independent Teacher Inspection Visits
If a suitable departure is not scheduled for your destination, we can provide two nights’ accommodation for an independent inspection visit. The stay will be at the proposed accommodation for your school group, or similar, subject to availability.
Accommodation
If you have confirmed a school group of over ten paying passengers, we will offer two nights complimentary accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis, for up to two passengers. If you have not confirmed your school group with us, there is a minimum charge of £80 per person per night. If you subsequently pay a deposit on a group trip to the inspected destination with at least ten paying passengers within two years of the visit, you will be refunded.
Flights, activities, and transport in your destination
As a group travel specialist, Discover the World Education offers a diverse range of options for group travel at excellent value. However, these savings may not be available to us when booking independent inspection visits for our clients. We therefore encourage you independently arrange flights and other arrangements such as entry fees to exhibitions and activities. If services are arranged by Discover the World Education, supplementary to the aforementioned two nights’ accommodation, a non-refundable £50 per person admin fee will be charged.
Holidays to Iceland and Norway
If you would rather book a holiday to Iceland or Norway, our Holidays team would be delighted to help. Discover the World has a broad range of options to create a bespoke holiday package.
