Alaska Bear Camp

Alaska Bear Camp

Nestled in the heart of the untamed Alaskan wilderness, Alaska Bear Camp promises an extraordinary adventure surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

Tucked away in an enclave of private land in the heart of Lake Clark National Park, the camp is only accessible by bush plane. Begin your adventure by flying across Cook Inlet, passing over active volcanos and massive glaciers before touching down on a pristine beach. Keep a look out, as you might spot a couple of bears roaming the shoreline.

Situated on the historic grounds of an old homestead, this sustainable bush camp feels incredibly remote. The accommodations, housed in custom heavy-duty WeatherPort tents, stand on raised decks facing the Chinitna Bay shoreline. Designed to withstand the elements, each tent features a solid door, hard floor, propane space heater for warmth, and battery-powered lights for a cosy atmosphere. The camp’s electricity, partially sourced from solar energy, powers an electrified fence, ensuring your safety against bears and other wildlife. Inside the rustic tent cabins, two snug twin beds await, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of adventure. Bathrooms are shared, maintaining the camp’s eco-friendly ethos.

Enjoy delicious meals prepared by the resident chef. The focus is on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including fish and seafood from the regional waters. The communal dining tent doubles as a social hub.

The stars of the show? Bears, bears, and more bears! Watch these incredible animals roam, fish, and forage with your expert naturalist guides lead the way, sharing their encyclopedic knowledge. Two private viewing platforms offer prime vantage points and then there’s the Bearmobile – a rugged vehicle ready to take you on further excursions in search of bears and other wildlife.
