Arthurs Pass Wilderness Lodgeᅠ

Introduction

Set on a spectacular 2,400 hectare nature reserve and high country sheep station, the Arthurs Pass Wilderness Lodge offers an immersive and experiential stay.

Located halfway between Christchurch and Greymouth, this lodge has been carefully designed to blend in with its natural surroundings. Walk from your room straight into a natural paradise of beech forest, tussock clearings, moss-lined streams and alpine lakes. A daily programme of guided activities will allow you to explore this alpine landscape and offers insights into the unique flora and fauna around you. Enjoy spectacular views and come away with a greater understanding of New Zealand’s fascinating wildlife and geology.

The lodge itself features 24 guest rooms, with a choice of Mountain View Rooms or Luxurious Alpine Lodges. Each room offers magnificent views and a range of amenities, with ensuite facilities, tea/coffee maker and private balcony. The Alpine Lodges also include a spa bath, kitchenette and gas fire. There are no televisions, as the lodge invites you to reconnect with nature instead.

Meals are served in the cosy Mt Rolleston Restaurant, where the surrounding mountain peaks provide a magnificent backdrop to the superb food and wine that is offered. The evening set menu changes daily and provides two choices for each course along with a vegetarian option. Specialties of the house include the lodge’s highly-praised lamb, along with a selection of New Zealand’s best fish, meats, fruit and vegetables.

A minimum stay of 2 nights is recommended at Arthurs Pass Wilderness Lodge, to allow time to relax and to enjoy the schedule of high country activities.
