Featuring 31 authentic log cabins nestled amongst the trees on the banks of the glacial Kicking Horse River, Cathedral Mountain Lodge offers a pure Rockies experience in the Yoho National Park. Only fifteen minutes from Lake Louise, this lodge offers the perfect balance of escape and easy access to the region’s countless activities. Yoho National Park covers the western slopes of the Rocky Mountains and is renowned for its rock walls, spectacular waterfalls and soaring peaks. Wildlife in the park is abundant, including elk, bear, moose, deer, wolf, and the more elusive Canadian lynx.
The lodge’s Adventure Specialist is always on hand with recommendations for the best hiking, wildlife viewing, sights and cultural experiences available nearby, and can assist in booking an array of activities. The hand-crafted log cabins have been designed to create an oasis of comfort in the mountain wilderness. Each cabin features a fireplace, outside deck, large sitting area and a luxurious bathroom with Aveda bath products and soothing deep soaker tub. There are no televisions or telephones, placing the emphasis on soaking up the mountain atmosphere and relaxing, before your next day’s adventures. The newly renovated main lodge building is home to the communal Great Room and restaurant/bar.
The multi-award winning kitchen caters for one of best small restaurants in the country, showcasing fresh local produce and certified organic ingredients, as well as Canada’s fine wine selection. Use of the lodge’s canoes, guided hiking program and afternoon tea are all included. Cathedral Mountain Lodge has a sister property, Moraine Lake Lodge, located over the province border in Alberta.
