Introduction

This large working farm near Hvammstangi offers comfortable, modern rooms with or without private facilities. The guesthouse welcomes guests to visit the farm and get an insight into rural Icelandic life. With a horse centre on site, riding tours and lessons are a popular activity, while the hiking in the area is renowned and a common escape for the birders seeking to discover Iceland’s myriad of avian species. Binoculars may be rented for use at the special bird watching house as well, and even novices are encouraged to try their hand at this remarkably addictive past-time.

The farm’s excellent restaurant serves unmodified and healthy cuisine, much of which is prepared from the farm’s home-grown vegetables and self-made bread. Fine wines and beers are served alongside these meals and packed lunches can be prepared on request.

Rooms come with or without private facilities but nearly all come with beautiful views of the area’s meandering hills, rich swamps and cutting valley. A TV and video recorder are available for use in the building’s main living room.
