Hjelle Hotel

Introduction

Hjelle Hotel is a charming hotel, run by the same family for over 100 years.  Situated in spacious grounds on the lake shoreline at the eastern end of Lake Strynevatn, this is a peaceful spot surrounded by spectacular scenery.

Hiking, cycling and fishing are popular activities in the area.  In the summer months the hotel offer a guided tour to Erdalen an old mountain farm which can be booked locally.

The on site restaurant offers a 3 course evening meal every night.

Hotel Hjelle offers a selection of rooms in their main building, comprising the original wooden hotel and newer concrete building and motel style rooms in a separate building.  Decorated in a classic style, all rooms have a bathroom (some with shower and some with bath), hairdryer and refrigerator. Some rooms have a view of the lake.

Romantic Rooms with Balcony These rooms all have a bath and are located in the main building (two rooms in the wooden part and four rooms in the concrete part).  Rooms in the concrete part of the building have a better view.  Two of these are family rooms sleeping up to 4 with a separate children’s bedroom.

Romantic Room with Shower Located in the wooden part of the main building some of these rooms have lake views.

Romantic Suites These are located in the wooden part of the main building and feature a separate sitting room area.

Twin Room with Shower Located in the main building these are smaller rooms without lake view.

Economy Rooms These ensuite motel style rooms are situated in a separate building a short walk from the main hotel. All rooms have a lake view.
