This timbered 47-room hotel is in a unique Taiga forest with breathtaking views over Lake Lammasjarvi. A destination for wilderness and wildlife enthusiasts, visitors gather here from to share the opportunity to witness brown bears in the long, twelve to sixteen hour days.
The bear hides on site make sighting wildlife easy and come equipped with comfortable viewing chairs, a sleeping area, hearing amplificatory system (for birds) and a toilet. The smaller, three man hide offers close encounters with the iconic brown bears themselves, whilst the six to ten person hides provide panoramic views of the site.
Set in a small, open wetland area, with a backdrop of spruce, pine and birch forests, for the photographers, the site offers excellent opportunities to experiment with your craft. Other animals that can be spotted include wolverine, reindeer and a wide range of birds. However, a visit here is not limited to the bears, and the hotel offers plenty of facilities for some serious relaxing, such as two Finnish saunas, a peat sauna, an infrared sauna, an herb bubble bath, Jacuzzi, acu massage bed and anti-stress chairs with sound therapy. This is absolutely the place to unwind. Cycling, hiking, swimming, fishing and rowing are all available in the area and whether you’re here to relax or play there is plenty to keep you busy.
